The newly established St. John’s Chamber Ensemble is made up of woodwind, brass and percussion instruments. The regular members are currently in 5th - 8th grade, but we hope this will come to include 9th grade and beyond as our musicians grow up. Players with at least a year of playing experience are always welcome to join. The ensemble works on a flexible rehearsal schedule which is based on upcoming performances. Scheduled practices take place on Sundays following the 10:30 Service (during coffee hour) in the Choir room. Although we only came into being this past October, we have already performed the preludes at the Thanksgiving Family Service and the Christmas Eve Children’s Service. Our next performance is planned for the family service on March 19th. We play a repertoire that is in keeping with the tradition of fine music we have always heard at St. John’s.
