Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper

Shrove Tuesday is the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday (Feb. 28th) which is the first day of Lent.  It's a day a penitence, to clean the soul, and a day of celebration as the last chance to feast before Lent begins. Traditionally pancakes are eaten on this day because they contain fat, butter and eggs which were forbidden during Lent.

Many volunteers came together on November 7th to make pies that will be available for sale at the Holiday Fair on December 2nd and 3rd.

Rise Against Hunger - October 7, 2017

St. John’s multiple generations joined together on a Saturday morning to assemble 10,000 meals for the Rise Against Hunger program.

Rise Against Hunger is an international hunger relief organization that distributes food and life-changing aid to the world’s most vulnerable, mobilizing the necessary resources to end hunger by 2030.

Pedals for Progress (P4P)

Pedals for Progress Bike Collestion

Pedals For Progress (P4p.org) will be collecting used bike and sewing machines from 9 AM to 12 noon on Saturday May13th 2017 rain or shine at the St. John’s parking lot on East Main Street at corner of Franklin Turnpike in Ramsey.  Anyone with an adult or child’s bicycle in working or repairable condition is urged to donate it to this worthy cause.  “Bikes for parts” or disassembled bikes cannot be accepted. We are also collecting working portable sewing machines.
